Butler County has approved the next round of projects that they will be helping local municipalities finance.
Around $19 million in loans were approved through the Butler County Infrastructure Bank last week. The bank is designed to provide loans at fair interest rates to local municipalities to help finance major infrastructure projects.
One of the more notable projects was $11 million for the Western Butler County Authority that will see the acquisition of a privately owned wastewater treatment plant and turn it into a pump station.
There was also nearly $6 million set aside for Adams Township and the Three Degree Road project—which work is starting to take place.
Other municipalities receiving funding include Evans City, Harmony, Jackson Township, and Oakland Township.
