Butler County is beginning the process of starting a Paramedics Academy.
Officials say they have seen a large success with the recently established EMT Academy at Butler County Community College. They say adding a paramedics academy would continue the effort to help the EMS crisis facing local agencies.
It would have a similar setup to the EMT Academy. The program would be hosted at BC3, take about 700 total hours to complete the course, and would require graduates to commit to working in Butler County.
Officials say the EMT Academy has over 20 graduates so far, and they are currently in the process of reviewing students for the next class.
No timeline was immediately available on when the Paramedics Academy will begin.
