Several local municipalities have been chosen to receive state funding for improvement projects.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has approved a Multimodal Transportation Fund grant of just over $408,000 for Clinton Township to resurface Monks, Spring Valley, and Anderson Roads.
PennDOT is also providing a nearly $152,000 grant to Mars Borough for the reconstruction and resurfacing of Spring Avenue Road. A grant of just over $72,000 will go to Zelienople Borough to install a pedestrian crosswalk at the intersection of Main and Spring Streets while Forward Township will receive just over $44,000 for guide rail installation on Spithaler School and Leslie Roads.
A total of $51 million has been distributed to 66 projects in 32 counties across the state. Applications for the next round of funding will begin to be accepted September 23rd with a deadline of November 5th.
