Members of the Butler County Republican Committee have decided to take action in response to a vote on the most recent Trump Impeachment trial.
During a special meeting Wednesday night, 94 members voted in favor of a resolution of censure against Senator Pat Toomey while two members voted against.
The longtime Republican member of Congress was one of seven GOP Senators who voted to impeach President Donald Trump for his role in the Capitol riot on January 6th. The Butler County Republican Committee resolution states that the censure is because Toomey violated “his oath of office and the U.S. Constitution”.
Members of the Pennsylvania Republican Committee also met Wednesday night to discuss the impeachment and the path forward but ended their five hour meeting without a decision about censuring Toomey.
