Butler County continues to have the lowest unemployment rate in the region, but it’s by a slim margin.
According to the latest numbers from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, Butler’s jobless rate in April was 4.1 percent. Allegheny County’s rate was the next lowest at 4.2 percent.
The highest- by far- was Fayette County at 6.2 percent.
The jobless rate in the entire seven-county Pittsburgh region held steady in April at 4.5 percent, a low point not seen here since 2007.
