With the constant rain over the last 24 hours, that has led to a number of roads being closed.
Due to the shut downs, the Butler Area School District has closed for the day. District officials say that it is due to severe flooding on some roads in the district.
A stretch of Route 38 (Oneida Valley Road) remains closed. According to PennDOT, the shutdown runs from the intersection with Route 68 to the dam and intersection with Hohn Farm Road in Oakland Township. Two motorists in a vehicle near Henricks Road in two feet of water had to be rescued Wednesday afternoon by emergency responders.
The Renfrew area was also impacted by flooding. A stretch of Meridian Road between Renfrew and Smith Roads in Penn Township has been shut down, along with portions of Renfrew Road from Meridian to Three Degree Roads that are closed as well due to flooding.
In Butler Township, a portion of Henricks Road is closed at the intersection with Oneida Valley Road in Summit Township.
In Connoquenessing Township, Dick Road is closed between the intersections with Double Road and Boy Scout Road.
In Lancaster Township, Yellow Creek Road has been closed between the intersections with Little Creek Road and East Lancaster Road.
In Concord Township, Hallston Road is closed between the intersections with Troutman Road and Seven Hills Road as well as between Gilbert Road and Oneida Valley Road while Route 138 is closed between Campbell Road and Meals Road.
In Jackson Township, Hartmann Road is closed between the intersections with Evergreen Mill and Textor Hill Roads.
Boyers Road is closed between the intersections with West Sunbury Road in Marion Township and Kohlmeyer Road in Venango Township,
In Marion Township, Route 308 is closed between Cemetery and Deer Roads while Boyers Road is closed between the intersections with Ferguson and Dematteis Roads.
Officials urge drivers to use other routes and to not try to go through flooded roadways.
