A local organization will now have office space in the Butler City Building after an agreement was approved by city council.
Butler Downtown will be given the use of office space on the third floor of the Butler City Building at no charge, pending review by the city solicitor.
The offices were previously designated for members of Butler City Council but were not being used and were determined to not be needed in the future. This organization has no full-time employees but will utilize the office on an as-needed basis to support downtown projects.
The city currently directs $10,000 yearly to support the efforts of Butler Downtown but a portion of that money is directed to the Butler County Chamber of Commerce for rent of previous office space near Diamond Park.
The move is expected to be completed by April 16.
