The Butler boys’ basketball team fell to Mt. Lebanon on Saturday in the WPIAL 6A championship game.
The Golden Tornado lost by five points in the game held at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, never trailing by double digits and tying the game midway through the third quarter.
Butler basketball’s last WPIAL title was 28 years ago, when current coach Matt Clement was a sophomore in high school and on the team.
Butler will now turn their attention to the PIAA state playoffs.
