The 25th annual Caring Angel fundraiser at Butler Memorial Hospital wrapped up last week. BHS Development Specialist Kris Bowser told our newsroom, “We’ve had another great year. We’re continuing to raise additional funds every year. I always just like to say that we’re just so appreciative of everybody’s support.”
Bowser says this year’s total of over $63,000 raised through the basket raffle of 61 baskets is an over $6,000 increase over last year. A 50/50 raffle raised an additional over $8,000 for the Caring Angel Program which provides emergency room care to children whose parents or guardians don’t have insurance or the resources to pay.
According to Bowser, no one person can achieve the incredible results that have been accomplished through this collection.
“It’s really a group; community, employees, physicians, everybody who joins together,” Bowser explained.
Additionally students and staff at the Butler Area School District are also raising money for this program as they have in the past and will present those donations at some point later this month.
