The Butler High School girls and boys bowling teams split with Deer Lakes to complete their regular season Friday night. The Butler boys won 7-0 and the girls fell 5-2.
Eric Devore led the Golden Tornado with a 652 series and a high game of 235. Luke Keene rolled a 578 series with a high game of 235. Devore ended the regular season with the leading average in the WPIBL North Section at 208.35, which was also in the top 10 of the entire WPIBL. The boys ended the season with a 9-1 record overall.
The Butler girls were led by Kelsee McConnell who rolled a 595 series with a high game of 230. The girls finished the season with a 6-4 record.
Both Butler teams qualified for the WPIBL Team Championships being held in Mt. Lebanon next week. 10 Butler bowlers also qualified for the WPIBL singles championships in two weeks. The boys will send six bowlers for the first time in program history.
