For the past two days, some students in the Butler Area School District have been on buses longer than usual on the ride home.
Parents have told our newsroom that kids have been on the bus as long as 5 p.m.
School Superintendent Dr. Brian White says that it all stems from a shortage of bus drivers, and some of those drivers calling off in the afternoon.
He also told our newsroom that they are “working to find additional drivers and that Valley Lines bus company has hired a few new drivers who are currently being trained.”
White added that the district is working to come up with additional solutions.
