The Butler Health System has reported more deaths from COVID-19 this week.
This afternoon, Butler Memorial Hospital released information to our newsroom that they are treating 25 patients for the coronavirus, with five people in the ICU.
Since Monday, the Butler Health System reported to the Department of Health that they had three deaths from COVID-19; two deaths were reported today (11/11) and one death was reported on Monday (11/9). This comes after the weekend in which the Health System reported 4 total deaths between Saturday and Sunday.
BHS has also revised their visitation policy effective 7pm Wednesday, Nov 11, 2020 to a ‘no visitation’ policy. The following are some exceptions that are on the Butler Health System’s website. These do not make up the complete list. That list can be found here. https://www.butlerhealthsystem.org/CoronaVirus.aspx
- One (1) person may accompany a patient having a procedure or outpatient surgery.
- Patients seeking emergency care may not have a visitor accompany them, with the exception of a parent or designee who may remain with a minor or a patient who is incapable of making their own decisions and will be screened appropriately.
- Labor and delivery patients may be accompanied by one (1) person.
- Behavioral Health patients are permitted one visitor per visit and the visitor does not need to be the same designated person for the duration of the patient’s stay.
- For everyone’s safety, COVID-19 positive patients are not permitted visitation.
As for the report from the Department of Health, there were 90 new cases of COVID-19 reported by the state for Butler County on Wednesday.
That comes with 267 negative tests, giving today’s report a 25.2 percent positivity rate.
(Butler Health System continues to remind residents that the Covid collection tent has been relocated to 304 Delwood Road, Butler, PA 16001.)
