Residents interested in minimizing online risk are invited to an upcoming program.
The Butler Area Public Library is hosting an informational session titled Preventing Online Fraud in Libraries and with Patrons on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until noon in the Reading Room.
An assistant professor at Slippery Rock University will introduce commonly utilized fraud techniques as well as provide tips and strategies to identify scams on public and private devices. Participants are welcome to bring their own electronic devices.
Registration through the library is required by 4 p.m. today.
