Students at Butler Middle School and Connoquenessing Elementary are the latest to transition back to remote learning for several days.
The schools will be closed to in-person instruction Thursday and Friday. Students are off in observance of Martin Luther King Jr Day on Monday.
This decision was made after additional members of those school communities tested positive for COVID-19. This threshold is mandated by the state Departments of Health and Education.
District staff will clean and sanitize the schools while they are closed and the district will begin a new 14-day period of case counting as required by the state.
Earlier in the week, the district announced that the Intermediate High School and McQuistion Elementary Schools would be closed through Thursday as a result of the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
