The Butler Area School District has a revised contract in place for the next five years with the company providing student transportation.
The new agreement with Valley Lines includes a freeze for the current school year as well as an average increase of 1.7% per year after that.
In the event of another closure like last year when Butler would utilize bus transportation for fewer than 175 days, Valley would be entitled to 40% of the contracted amount as long as the district still receives state reimbursement.
The new deal also specifies that no further claims will be made upon the previous contract which expired June 30th and included the COVID-19 shutdown.
