The Butler School Board continues to devote some meeting time to improve engagement with community members while also learning more about the activities of each school facility.
The second of two March meetings was held at Northwest Elementary School Monday night so that board members could get a closer look at programs at the Wonders of Work school.
Principal Matt Martinez spoke to board members about how teachers work with students to inspire hope through planning group as well as individual goals. Other focuses include academic growth and improved attendance with Wonders of Work providing students with information and experiences about different careers or fields of study.
The number of students at Northwest has increased in recent years although nearly half are designated as economically disadvantaged.
