The Butler Area School District has agreed to a new contract with a union representing a group of their employees.
Earlier this week, the school board approved a five year agreement with the Service Employees International Union Local 32BJ from July 1st 2023 until June 30, 2028.
According to Superintendent Dr. Brian White, this new deal contains a pay increase of 3 to 3.5% each year which includes an increase of $1 per hour in the wages of new employees.
This agreement has already been approved by a vote of union members.
