Our news partners at WPXI television are reporting that the renovation project underway at the Butler Senior High School is facing a delay due to supply chain issues.
According to Eckles Construction Services’ Dave Johnson, “There has been some shortage industrywide on stuff like roof material and aluminums. Lumber prices have been an issue for a while.”
Part of the project is the construction of a new auxiliary gym. The gym was supposed to be completed in February, but the difficulty to obtain materials for the project, such as steel, has pushed the completion of the gym back to August. Other parts of the project won’t be finished until as late as December.
Certain specialty classes will still be held at the Intermediate High School. The district plans to begin on schedule this fall.
