After beginning the school year with enough bus drivers, the Butler Area School District is in need of help to be able to transport students efficiently.
During Monday’s school board meeting, Superintendent Dr. Brian White spoke about the difficulties the district is dealing with getting students to and from school facilities.
“Our challenge is that buses are very full. We have three to a seat in many of the secondary runs because of the lack of drivers. It’s tough,” White said. “We have an 84 passenger bus with 84 high schoolers on it. That’s a tight ride.”
Valley Lines has attempted to purchase more buses but similar to many other industries, supply chain issues are preventing this from happening in a timely manner.
Those interested in exploring a career as a Butler school bus driver should call the Valley Lines bus company for more information.
