The Butler Area School District plans to continue with remote learning for all students next week leading into Thanksgiving vacation.
According to Superintendent Dr. Brian White, this decision was made after close study of the most recent and most local data about COVID infection rates available. Center Avenue Community School students will move from in-person instruction to remote learning as well.
An individual from Connoquenessing Elementary School reported a positive COVID case on Thursday followed by a person from the Intermediate High School on Friday. Neither person had any close contact with others in the school community. The decision about remote learning will continue to be revisited on a weekly basis.
White also said that varsity and junior varsity winter sports will be allowed to cautiously proceed with workouts as long as everyone wears masks.
