Many students and families will spend the day outdoors helping improve a local waterway this weekend.
Butler Area School District students will participate in “Fisheries Science Trout Release Day” at Alameda Park’s Jaycees Shelter on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m.
The kids will be releasing fingerling rainbow trout raised in classrooms across the district into Sullivan Run as well as planting riparian buffer trees and identifying macroinvertebrate.
This event will also include a discussion of the stream improvements that have occurred in Alameda Park.
