As students prepare to return to the classroom in a few weeks, one local group will have lots of stories to share about a recent trip to remember.
The Butler German and French Club traveled across Europe July 18th through the 26th.
Teacher Jared Schneider explains why 30 students, teachers, and parents traveled to France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein.
“The planning started prior to the pandemic. The French teacher and myself got together and provide an opportunity for students to go overseas. It was something we offered at Butler a long time ago, but it was something that went away because there’s a lot of scary things in the world,” Schneider said.
Students were able to put their language skills to use and experience new cultures outside the classroom.
“We flew from Pittsburgh to Chicago and then Chicago to Paris. From Paris we spent a couple of days and then took a train to Switzerland. And then we toured the city of Bozel in Switzerland,” Schneider said of the trip. “After Bozel, we took a bus into the middle of nowhere into the mountains. It was amazing.”
Instructors hope to see this trip continue on an every-other-year basis in the future.
