The superintendent of the Butler Area School District says they have been dealing with an increase in student behavior problems at the Senior High School.
Dr. Brian White wrote in an email to parents that a number of incidents inside the building are rising to the level of criminal behavior.
White says the district has continued to try and investigate why this is happening; however they haven’t been able to identify a root cause.
The district recently met with multiple law enforcement agencies and asked for direct assistance in investigating and prosecuting criminal behavior.
White also says that the district is continuing to work with Glade Run by offering therapeutic services to students who need it.
White emphasized that the behavior is unacceptable and there will be consequences for violations of the student code of conduct.
