Butler Area School administrators continue to work to incorporate recent state guidelines into plans to provide in-person instruction.
Butler Area Superintendent Dr. Brian White intends to send a communication to the community in the first week of August about the intended pathway to begin the year with in-person instruction.
At this point, White believes the plan will include the wearing of masks in school unless people are in an environment greater than six feet apart. Part of that communication is also expected to include a survey asking families to provide information about planned utilization of district-provided transportation.
White went on to explain that any plans could be forced to change at short notice due to actions or decisions made by the administration of Governor Tom Wolf. White also said that he anticipates the district to be affected by a shortage of employees at some point during the year.
