A local school administrator has received regional recognition for exceptional leadership.
Butler Area School District Superintendent Dr. Brian White has been named the 2018 Distinguished Educator by the University of Pittsburgh’s Tri-State Area Study Council.
This award was established in 1981 to honor those who have made extraordinary contributions to the field of education.
“Since joining our district in September, Dr. White has brought our community together and led us through the process of strategic planning,” said Nina Teff, President of the Butler Area School District School Board, in a statement. “Although his time at Butler has been short, his ability to collaborate with faculty and staff, and engage our community to create a vision for our future truly makes him a distinguished educator.”
Dr. White will receive his award at the 70th annual School Board and Distinguished Educator Banquet on March 15.
The Tri-State Area School Study Council exists to help school districts in the western Pennsylvania region with strategic planning, technical assistance and employment searches.
