The Butler Transit Authority is entering into an agreement with a local municipality to provide winter maintenance at a park and ride facility.
At their meeting Tuesday, the authority approved two agreements with Jackson Township regarding the Route 528 Park and Ride.
The first deals with removing snow twice a day as necessary from the approximately 150 feet of sidewalk. The authority will pay between $60 and $240 per removal depending on how much snow falls. This five-year agreement replaces work previously done by a private contractor.
The second agreement concerns plowing of the 330 space parking lot at that facility. The amount of per-space reimbursement Jackson receives from PennDOT has increased so the Authority will increase their amount as well to total $22,000 per year on a year-to-year deal.
