The Butler Transit Authority has entered into two professional services agreements in order to help achieve favorable outcomes during interactions with state government agencies.
First, the authority board approved retaining the law firm of Summers and Nagy at a cost not to exceed $10,000. This firm is representing a coalition of eight rural or suburban transit agencies in providing input for new legislation that will determine alternative sources of state transit funding. This legal expense will be split among all eight agencies.
The authority board also agreed to a deal with consultant Delta Development at a cost not to exceed $7,500. This company is already providing consultant services to the authority concerning interactions with PennDOT particularly with regard to the authority’s commuter service. Since route changes have been made to the service, PennDOT is seeking to determine new goals and standards so this new deal will allow Delta to be the local authority’s advocate in that process.
