The Butler Transit Authority is requesting state funding to purchase more buses.
At the Authority’s meeting Tuesday night, Executive Director John Paul asked for approval for about $2.6 million in order to purchase four additional local buses to provide local service.
The request will be sent to the Pennsylvania Bureau of Public Transportation and there is no guarantee of approval.
If approved, the additional buses would improve service for users as they would allow for stops every half hour instead of every hour which would cut wait times in half.
