The Butler Transit Authority plans to use federal stimulus funding in order to purchase a new vehicle.
At a cost of nearly $800,000 the Authority board approved the purchase of a MCI 45 foot Coach CNG bus identical to the five they currently use to provide commuter service to and from Pittsburgh.
The Authority will use funding from a CRRSSA grant to pay for the cost of this bus and it is expected to be received sometime this fall. A similar bus purchase approved by the authority last year required state funding which ultimately was pushed to sometime in the future.
The Authority also approved a couple of change orders totaling over $10,000 for the expansion of their Hollywood Drive facility including wood doors and a canopy roof. The latest estimate for completion of this project is early April.
