Butler Township is moving ahead with a storm water project planned for later this year.
During their meeting Monday night, the Butler Township Commissioners awarded the Whippo Avenue Storm Water Project to Bauer Excavating, Inc.
The Butler-based company submitted the lowest of seven bids received by Gateway Engineers at nearly $66,000. About 230 feet of line is currently in bad shape and affecting driveways in the area.
This work is expected to begin next month and be completed within 90 days. This project could include temporary road closures to allow for moving utilities, placing a new inlet frame and grate, and repaving.
