Many Butler Township residents continue to take advantage of the free option to recycle electronics and hazardous household waste.
During the first quarter of this year, over six and a half tons of waste was collected- including nearly three and a half tons of TVs, nearly 600 pounds of computers, and the same amount in computer monitors, according to data released by the township on Monday.
Nearly one ton of paint was also collected during the same time period. Other items include some petroleum products. Pharmaceuticals cannot be recycled.
Butler Township residents with questions about the process of disposing of items like these should contact Waste Management or the Township for more information.
