Butler Township Commissioners have finalized their budget for the upcoming 2022 year without a tax increase.
No adjustments needed to be made to the nearly $8 million budget before approval by the Commissioners Monday night.
This represents a four percent increase over the 2020 budget, but it is still one percent below the 2019 budget.
Even though the budget does not include a tax increase, the township is able to afford several large items requested by department heads including two replacement police vehicles and a dump truck for use by the streets department.
Although many expenses have increased, responsible planning will allow Butler Township residents to continue paying a tax rate of 11.25 mils in 2022.
