Several local emergency responders have been recognized for extraordinary efforts to save a life earlier this year.
Butler Township Police Officer Jeffrey Lewis was among those receiving the “American Heart Association Heartsaver Hero” award at Butler Township Commissioners meeting Monday night.
A call came into the Butler County 911 Center March 20th for a male patient not breathing on Williams Road. Officer Lewis was the first to arrive on the scene and began CPR efforts. Butler Township Emergency Services Chief Scott Frederick then arrived and administered an Automatic External Defibrillator shock to the patient while Butler Township Volunteer Firefighter Seth Miller arrived shortly after.
William Lohmuller and his family were in attendance at Monday’s meeting to express appreciation for the care he was given. In addition to Lewis, Frederick, and Miller, Lohmuller also presented awards to Butler Ambulance Service Paramedic Dave Barthel, Butler Ambulance Service EMT Reinaldo Toro, Butler Ambulance Service Paramedic Chase Brown, Butler Ambulance Service Paramedic Jesse Haas, Butler VA Fire and Emergency Services Assistant Chief Ryan Enscoe, and Butler VA Fire and Emergency Services Lieutenant William Boyle.
