Butler Township is interested in hiring a fire administrator.
The board of commissioners approved a job description for the new position and directed staff to advertise for those who might be interested during a meeting Monday.
Responsible for some of the same duties as the former Fire Marshal position, the Fire Administrator will perform administrative and technical tasks in support of the Butler Township Fire Department and Township safety initiatives. The salary for this position has yet to be determined.
This is expected to begin as a part-time position but could eventually become a full-time position. If all goes as planned, the position could be filled by the end of February.
