Butler Township is addressing one of the biggest complaints residents have voiced about the trash removal service they rolled out last year.
A new agreement with Dlubak Glass Company will allow Butler Township residents to recycle glass.
Beginning April 18th, the township will collect glass bottles or jars of any color in a bin at the Township Municipal Building. It does not matter if there are labels on the jars but no plastic, including bags, can be placed in the bin for glass. The Natrona Heights company will then collect, transport, and recycle the glass at no cost to the Township.
If this program is successful, it could result in expansion to other municipalities in Butler County that currently do not permit recycling of glass.
