The Hansen Avenue and Whitestown Road intersection project in Lyndora is moving forward, but there will still be delays before ground breaking.
Butler Township officials say the delays are being caused by waiting for the Commonwealth to approve the plan, and then comments needed from PennDOT.
Right now, there is no set time table for when the project will begin or be finished but Township Manager Tom Knights believes the project to install a four-way intersection at the light should be done by October 2024.
Once the state approves the plan, the township will begin accepting bids. Following the bidding process, the start of construction will depend on weather.
Neither Hansen Avenue or Whitestown Road will be closed during the project, but there will be lane restrictions.
Township officials ask for patience from community members as a the “long-needed project is updated.”
