A couple of local police officers are being recognized Friday for extraordinary efforts to save a motorist last year.
Butler Township Police Officers Rachel Dovidio and Bill Dobson will receive the “911 Quick Response” award at the 2023 Amen Corner Law Enforcement Awards Luncheon, which will be held in Pittsburgh.
36-year-old Ryan Davidson of Butler was traveling on Fairground Hill Road last November when he lost control of his vehicle due to a medical emergency. The vehicle caught fire and officers helped remove Davidson from the vehicle.
Davidson was flown to a Pittsburgh trauma center where he was in a coma for two weeks before being discharged. The officers received certificates of recognition from the state and county during a ceremony last December.
