Butler Township is moving ahead with plans for road work to take place this summer.
At their Monday night meeting, Butler Township Commissioners awarded a contract to Wiest Asphalt in the amount of just under $300,000 for this summer’s road resurfacing and a contract to Russell Standard in the amount of just under $200,000 for seal coating projects.
Roads that are scheduled to receive paving this year include Pittsburgh Pike, Winterwood Drive, Edgewood Road, North McKean Street, Rittswood Road, and Stoneridge Boulevard as well Ayres Avenue, Dingham Road, Walter Street, and Jersey Drive. Seal coat work will take place on roads such as Crisswell, Oakdale, and Evergreen.
The work is expected to begin after school lets out and finish before it begins again in the fall.
