Butler Township residents continue to take advantage of the recycling of electronics and hazardous household waste.
Butler Township Manager Tom Knights provided Township Commissioners with the latest update about collection by Waste Management in the final quarter of 2021.
According to the recent figures, over six tons of hazardous household and e-waste was collected during October, November, and December- including nearly four tons of televisions, over 1,000 pounds of computers and computer monitors, and over a ton of paint.
Total figures for 2021 within Butler Township include over six tons of paint, nearly three tons of electronics, and over 17 tons of televisions. Since the township began this program three years ago, over 82 tons of hazardous household waste has been collected from Butler Township residents.
Residents with questions about the process of disposing of items like these should contact Waste Management. Glass recycling continues to be offered in a bin behind the Butler Township building.
