Many Butler Township residents continue to take advantage of the recycling of electronics and hazardous household waste.
Butler Township Manager Tom Knights recently provided Township Commissioners with an update about collection by Waste Management in the first quarter of 2023.
According to the current figures, over 6,000 pounds of hazardous household and e-waste was collected from 69 households during January, February, and March- including nearly two tons of televisions, over 300 pounds of computers, and nearly 600 pounds of used oil.
Items like tires, pharmaceuticals, and asbestos cannot be collected. Glass recycling continues to be available at the Butler Township building.
