A new tradition will take over downtown streets in Butler this weekend.
It’s the Butler Italian Festival- back for a third year.
Organizer Michael Dongilli says the event promises to be bigger and better this year- with more space, more vendors, more music and more food.
“We’re so excited for year three because the first two years have been so well received,” Dongilli said during an interview Wednesday with Butler Radio.
The festival runs Friday through Sunday on Butler’s Main Street, which will be closed for the majority of the weekend.
Vehicle traffic will be prohibited on Main beginning at 2 p.m. Friday to allow for set-up. The road will re-open after 10 p.m. On Saturday, the festival runs from noon until 10 p.m. and again on Sunday from noon until 6 p.m.
Police will re-open Main Street following the event each night once clean-up is over.
