A local woman is facing multiple felony charges in connection with a large amount of drugs recently seized by police.
According to a criminal complaint filed by Butler City Police, last Thursday around 1:30 p.m. an officer who also works as a Detective with the Butler County Drug Task Force recognized 34-year-old Dana Vanatta of Butler driving a vehicle on West Jefferson Street.
The officer knew Vanatta had a suspended license so he observed her get out of her vehicle and go into the Shell gas station. She and an unknown man came out and got back in the vehicle which the officer then pulled over. A search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia.
After being found in possession of suspected heroin, crack cocaine, cocaine, and crystal methamphetamine Vanatta was charged with multiple counts of felony Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance.
Vanatta later allegedly admitted to police that she had more drugs in her West Jefferson Street apartment where a search revealed 850 stamp bags of suspected heroin, nearly 30 grams of crack cocaine, and nearly 13 grams of powder cocaine.
