The hot weather this past weekend didn’t stop hundreds of members of the community from participating in this year’s American Cancer Society Butler Relay For Life.
The event was held Saturday at the Butler Farm Show Grounds.
Nineteen teams- and hundreds of people- continuously walked for 13 hours to raise money to fund local American Cancer Society programs. It’s an emotional time for many who honor those they have lost their battle with cancer and support those fighting.
Organizers say Butler Relay For Life has raised $95,500 this event season, which is a $20,000 increase from last year. Donations will be collected until July 21.
