A woman convicted for shooting and killing her boyfriend was sentenced to at least a decade behind bars.
20-year-old Jessica Callahan of Hillards was sentenced to 10 to 20 years in prison by Judge Joe Kubit. She was convicted of third-degree murder earlier this year following the shooting death of her boyfriend Tyler Whitlach.
The shooting happened in March 2023 on Kohlmeyer Road, when Callahan and Whitlach got into an argument. Whitlach then left the house, and was fatally shot by Callahan in the back.
Butler County District Attorney Rich Goldinger said his office was asking for 20 to 40 years of prison time for Callahan.
