A statewide bus driver shortage could impact the upcoming school year, which is prompting an organization to make a push to recruit more drivers.
The Pennsylvania School Bus Association (PSBA) is launching their school bus driver recruitment campaign.
The shortage of drivers affects the state’s ability to get 1.5 million students to and from school, sporting events and activities.
The association says that 88 percent of K-12 students start and end their day on a school bus.
Individuals interested in learning more about becoming a school bus driver are encouraged to visit the campaign website, YouBehindTheWheel.com.
Almost all of the local bus companies are looking to hire drivers for the upcoming year.
