Authorities are cracking down on aggressive and unsafe driving along a heavily traveled roadway through a local campaign.
“Eyes on 8” will focus primarily on Route 8, which runs through five counties.
Police will be looking for drivers who are speeding, tailgating, running red lights or being aggressive. Several local police departments have gotten thousands of dollars in grant money from a statewide aggressive driving enforcement program to fund the crackdown.
According to our news partners at WPXI-TV, the campaign has already resulted in 500 citations.
