Preparations are nearly ready for the Can-Am Police-Fire games taking place this week around Butler County.
The Can-Am Police-Fire games showcase the athleticism, resilience, and teamwork of first responders across the United States and Canada.
There will be 33 unique sporting events hosted across 16 venues in Butler County, with net proceeds of the games going to the special Olympics of Pennsylvania.
Events are planned to be held at different locations like Slippery Rock University, Moraine State Park, the UPMC Lemieux Complex, Alameda Park and more.
Monday’s schedule includes Bench Press Weigh-in at SRU from 5 to 7 p.m. and the Guns and Hoses Lounge at the Harmony in at 6 p.m. The Slippery Rock Business Association and SRU are also teaming up with the Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau for a special Bands on the Bricks concert from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Gateway Gazebo.
