Canada defeated the United States 3-2 in overtime last night to win the 4 Nations Face-off tournament. Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid scored the game-winning goal for Canada in the extra period. Colorado star Nathan MacKinnon scored the game’s opening goal for Canada and was named the tournament MVP. He is the third Canadian player to average at least a goal per game in an NHL international tournament, joining Hall of Famers Mario Lemieux at the 1987 Canada Cup and Mike Bossy at the 1981 Canada Cup.
