A longtime fundraiser to benefit local children is about to get underway but with some changes as a result of the pandemic.
It’s the 23rd year for the Caring Angel Basket Auction and 50/50 Raffle put together by the Butler Health System Foundation.
“Due to all the restrictions on gatherings with COVID-19, we cannot have an in-person event this year,” Butler Health System Foundation Executive Director Kris Bowser said. “So we’re going to take pictures of the baskets, and the photos will be available on our website.”
The elaborate baskets will be able to be viewed online through the Butler Health System website starting tomorrow (Wednesday) through next Wednesday, December 9th. Tickets must be ordered using a digital order form then mailed along with a check or money order payment to the Foundation. Orders and payment must be received by Dec. 9.
“There are games of chance rules and regulations that all of us non-profits have to abide by,” Bowser said. “Diane Marburger issues all of the games of chance licenses, and she sent a memo out to non-profits so now with all the virtual raffles, you are not allowed to accept credit cards for ticket purchases.”
