A popular attraction in Pittsburgh will soon have a new name following a large donation.
According to a recent announcement from the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, the Carnegie Science Center will be renamed as the Daniel G. and Carole L. Kamin Science Center.
This comes after comes after the couple committed to a donation of $65 million which includes an initial contribution to the museum’s endowment as well as a bequest through the couple’s will.
Daniel Kamin is a Pittsburgh-based commercial real estate entrepreneur while Carole previously served as a member of boards and committees at the Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History. In 2016 the couple made a $5 million commitment to permanently endow the Carnegie Museum of Natural History’s director position.
